Time for a Stitchy Update ( a very exciting one!)

Good morning!
It's time for a stitchy update!
February from Prairie Schooler is moving along.. I did not like that groundhog in the top right corner...so I added a cardinal . There is another groundhog on the bottom and that will be replaced with a cardinal too.. He was a little cartoonish for my liking :)
Another chalkboard ornament was finished from Hands On Design .. this one is from collection 3 .. trying to do one ornament a month! Working on Christmas pieces on Sundays through the year ..
Let it Snow from Stitchrovia.. I doubt this one will get finished to put out this winter.. Hopefully next winter!
I actually finished 2 ornaments in January and this Santa and chicken from an older Just Cross Stitch ornament issue..
Since Santa's Village was a success last year I am doing a Frosty Forest stitchalong on Instagram ( come on over and join Us) One chart a month ..I am doing these separately on light blue coffee/tea dyed 28 count evenweave.
Fridays I am trying to stitch Fall pieces and this is the first up..Autumn Leaves from Prairie Schooler.
And then ...none of those things I just showed you is being stitched...because ... look at these colors! There is a new chalk design coming from Hands on Design and me! Reagan knows it's a secret so she is hiding it :) Ha ha! So get ready to stitch all you stitchy chalkboard loving friends!

It's a Winter Wonderland Chalkboard

Good morning!
The seasonal chalkboard in the kitchen has a winter wonderland theme for January..too bad here in Illinois  we are having rain and fog !
The chalkboard gets changed out seasonally and for Holidays.. soon it will be time for a Valentine chalkboard! The frame is from a garage sale ..and its one of my favorite seasonal decorations!
The ice skate tree in the background comes down at the end of the month along with the snowman tree..
I am sure with the weather we are having now , when March rolls around and I want to bring out all things spring we will be getting snow! For now the only winter wonderland is right here inside the house :)
 Have a great weekend!

Christmas in July ..I mean January!

Good morning!
 Look at what I finished!

My year of stitching the Santa's Village from Country Cottage Needleworks is all finished up!

I found this frame at the Good Will for $6.95 in December..it was painted gold and pretty ugly ..some off white paint and a little plaid ribbon made it perfect ! The pom pom garland is not permanent ..I think next year there will be some flocked greenery on the top with a pom pom garland..

I knew I wanted to mount it onto a chalkboard so I got the board cut yesterday and here it is.. I made the little garland border down the sides in chalk ..
I did change the last design and used the deer from the 2nd row but reversed them instead of the little table that was supposed to be there. Love those little deer!~

I can't wait for Christmas to hang it up!

Winter in the Galvanized Tiered Tray

 Happy Thursday!
I am here to show you my galvanized tiered tray dressed up for winter! Even though here in northern Illinois it's not very wintery ..40 degrees and rain is not normal! Personally I would rather have snow than rain! And yes that is a tree in the background.. it is the ice skate tree that I keep up through January..

Front and center is a little chalkboard ( with hopes of snow !) Lots of Little snowmen decorate the tray, with lots of flocked and icy looking greenery ..

The mason jars on top are filled with greenery and tied with red gingham fabric ribbons..
I do love changing this tray out for all the seasons and holidays.. it goes between this spot on the table and the end of the kitchen counter..

The kitchen hutch has also got a snowman theme .. My snowmen don't come out with the Christmas decorations.. they have their own season which is now !
I loved the buffalo check ribbons at Christmas and they seem very wintery to me so they stayed.. Pretty soon it will be time to switch it all up for spring! But for now "Let it Snow!"

A January Finish

 Good morning!
January Prairie Schooler is finished! I put the last few stitches in this morning and had to get it mounted and put on the chest in the foyer..
I used blue check homespun on the bias for the backing..and both the stitching and blue homespun are mounted on sticky board..then glued together with small pieces of sheet metal on the back to attach to the magnets that I have glued to the frame. It is so easy to change It out monthly..
There is greenery .. small glitter houses..pine cones.. plaid and black check ribbons..snowflakes..a vintage scale..and a pedestal plate.. the January stitching is on a stack of coverless books...

Last year I stitched March through August ..Sept, Oct. and Nov. I didn't really like so I won't be stitching those so that leaves February and December to get stitched!

A Chalkboard Winter Mantel

Good morning!
When Christmas is over.. I can't go cold turkey on all the trees and lights.. so... The snowman tree in the family room stays up through January ..

The white and flocked garlands stay on the mantel with a couple of the glitter houses.. the chalkboard got changed up from Christmas to winter..

I saw a photo on Instagram with a pillow like this and sent it to my daughter who got a Cricut  cutting machine for Christmas.. she brought me this yesterday ..she cut the words out with her Cricut using iron on vinyl and ironed it on this pillow .. love it so much!

Hope you are staying warm and cozy! It's an icy mess here .. I would rather have snow! Have a wonderful weekend!

A Winter Finish

Happy Tuesday.. Hope 2017 has started out great for all of you!
I finally got around to finishing this Country Cottage Needleworks Winter that I finished stitching on New Year's Day..
It's on display in the kitchen using a clipboard frame I got on clearance at Michael's..Love it! The colors in this one are perfect aren't they?

I used blue gingham on the bias ..and made a bow out of green gingham ripped in a strip that I tied knots in to give it more stability. I covered a button with the same blue gingham.
All 4 seasons are finished Winter.. Spring..

 Summer
Fall
