It's The First Day of Summer

Good morning ! Happy first day of summer!
I started stitching this Prairie Schooler Summer Breeze last year and finished it this year .. I kept going back and forth on how to display it and then realized it would fit in the hanging tray I had used for 2 other Prairie Schooler designs..
Prairie Schooler Santa's Night
But it didn't look good on the dark grey background.. When I bought this tray 2 years ago at Hobby Lobby it was red and had a saying in the middle .I spray painted it this greyish black color..
I bought some off white spray paint and painted it but I didn't like it because it was a little shiny ..so I borrowed some of my daughters Annie Sloan chalk paint and this is how it turned out..It worked great on the tray ..I did use 2 coats to cover the dark grey..
I mounted it on sticky board and also made another piece mounted on needlework sticky board for the back and covered it in green gingham on the bias of course :) I glued both pieces together and then used magnet tape on a roll to glue to the back to stick to the frame.
So there you have it.. another summer piece on display!

I had not seen that PS design. It looks great on that tray.

Your beautifully stitched summer PS piece looks great in the lighter tray, Priscilla! I love seeing your summer stitching and decorating. I almost hate to see summer begin as the days will start getting shorter again--I sure am enjoying these long light evenings! Enjoy the rest of June :)
