Red ..White.. and Bloom

 Happy Tuesday!
I think I have put every patriotic cross stitch into this picnic basket this year ..I keep moving things around but I think this one was made for the picnic basket ..

I finished stitching this one last night .. It is Red ,White and Bloom from Country Cottage Needleworks. I already had this frame It is from Hobby Lobby a few years ago. ..Pumpkin Cottage from Country Cottage Needleworks was in it.
So I took it out and used red gingham for the bottom layer.. I then put blue homespun check ( on the diagonal again ) for the next layer .. the last layer is the stitching mounted on sticky needlework board. I used a magnet on the red gingham and sheet metal on the blue gingham so I can maybe use this frame for a Christmas design..

I left all the rest of the vignette the same with the painted mason jars and vintage scale.. I love the blue gingham inside the picnic basket so this piece fits right in with it. It is sitting on a twine tied stack of coverless books.

I love your posts!! They are so inspiring. Would you consider doing a post on how you mount your needlework, and use the magnets and fabrics with the frames, etc. I cant quite figure it out and would love to see the steps.
Thank you!!

I have to ask you if you ever did a post on painting mason jars? If you did, please send me a link to it. I have a few i want to paint and I am curious, even though i have done this before, how you did yours because i like how they look...
Thanks!

That is a beautiful piece of stitchery! I used to do a lot of stitchery like that, but my peepers aren't good enough for that anymore. I'll just have to enjoy yours. the entire vignette is so pretty.

Your Red, White and Bloom cross-stitch is beautiful! And I really like how you plan ahead for using the frame for other holidays.

Thanks so much for linking this up as well to last Monday's Stitchery Link Party. I love seeing all your ideas and how you incorporate your stitching into your seasonal displays.
