Patriotic Stitchy Vignette

 Good morning !
I finished stitching up this Blackbird designs In Full Glory. Patriotic piece a couple days ago and yesterday I decided to put it into this frame .. I cut a piece of mounting board just snug enough to sit inside the frame so the stitching can be removed and the frame used for different seasonal pieces.
I did dry brush the frame with cream paint ..It is actually made of plastic but you can't tell and it looks so pretty.. I used a piece of burlap looking ribbon for the bottom ..I just wrapped it around the homespun piece and tied it. I then glued an old button to the tie.,
The roses are still going strong from Mothers day these were from my daughter.... I have them in a vase inside a galvanized pail ..I am hoping they will just dry this way :) There is a stem of green thistles and a flag also in the pail.
I had problems with the blue homespun check being straight again yesterday so I just used it diagonally again.

Remember I used the frame in the spring for Prairie Schoolers R is for Rabbit ?
and its first use was this winter design from Little House Needleworks.
I finished this Year In Chalk for June last night ..my pup is saying can we go to bed yet ? I did change the brownish thread to blue to go better with my patriotic summer decor ..
Yesterday was stormy and sunny ..it changed every 15 minutes ..But the iris are blooming !
Yesterdays sunrise..
Don't you just love this time of year with all the flags and the red white and blue decor!
I am off to work in the yard ! Have a wonderful day !

Super patriotic piece! How did you attach your stitching to the fabric covered mounting board? How do you store your pieces when they aren't being used?

Cute and perfect for the summer. Your picture of the irises is beautiful with the gorgeous tree. Sweet to have your doggie to keep you company, Kathleen in Az

I LOVE decorating with the red, white and blue. If I had a bigger house, I would have a Patriotic room and a Halloween room. Anyway, Your vignette is lovely and your stitching is lovely as well Priscilla!

I love your patriotic finish. You gave an idea for finishing some angels I have designed. Now I know that I need to make the foam board snug. I love all your stitching and that stormy picture is wonderful.
